Flash back from 2016

and Random Thoughts
Flash back to 2016 when we acquired a handful of peacocks. These beautiful India Blue peacocks have had quite a year. From constructing new pens, to be moved around the barn. There was the one who escaped and decided the best place to roost was on top of the barn. Yes, you read that correctly. He flew up to the top of our big ol' red barn and spent the night there. There was the other peacock who escaped and it took 2+ hours with six people searching before we found him tucked away for the night high up in a tree. This year we are excited for the potential of peachicks. I should clarify, peacocks are males..... peachicks are the babies, and the females are called peahens. I chuckle…

Expanding…. four feet at a time

and Random Thoughts
It's been a while since we have updated everyone. In the last few weeks we have had four lambs born. The latest member is oreo. She is the cutest spotted lamb we have. Her mom is a first time mother and doing a fantastic job. [caption id="attachment_155" align="alignnone" width="300"] Newest lamb added to the herd.[/caption] We are working on building her a shelter to keep them dry since there is rain forecasted by our local weatherman. I'm signing off for today, going to grab a cup of coffee and head out to keep cutting wood and buikding more shelters. With rain tomorrow I'll work on texturing Sheetrock. Give is a call if you need an estimate BTW: the incubator is full. The cat is pregnant and due any day. The…

Construction math meets chicken math

Construction math meets chicken math

and Random Thoughts
When we first started the construction business, Wollman Construction, Inc., it was quickly apparent construction math was going to take place. construction math you say? Well.... it's a lot like chicken math. Here's how chicken math works. If the coop hold 12 chickens, younpurcjase 12 chickens. Then a month later you stop by TSC and see it's chick days. You come home with 6 chicks. The next month you adopt 4 more birds..... in the end, you're unsure how many birds you have, only that you could always use a few more....   Enjoy these Chicken Math Memes     Time to head back back to my cup of coffee and think of how many construction tools I'm going to need to acquire this year and how many more chickens…

Interesting news regarding Lucy Goose

and Random Thoughts
It has been brought to our attention, Lucy Goose is not a female, but rather a male. Which make it a gander. Lucy Goose is no more, but has been renamed Ander the Gander. Thankfully here at Wollman Construction we can roll with the changes. Time for another cup of coffee and start drafting plans to build a larger coop. Good thing I know a qualified licensed contractor to work on expanding the coop. ;)

Exciting news! We are adopting!

Exciting news! We are adopting!

and Random Thoughts
We are adopting a goose! Lucy the Goose has joined the flock. She spends her days prancing back and forth in front of the basement windows. Apparently her duck, chicken, and guinea friends aren't cutting it anymore. She prefers to hang out with her reflection. Talking and honking to herself, and slobbering all over the windows. We are now working on finding her a suitable companion goose friend. In the mean time, I'm going to use my handy contractor skills to build her a frame to hold a mirror so she can better look at her goose reflection.   Head on over to our Facebook page for more Lucy updates.

Why is my attic full of moisture????

Why is my attic full of moisture????

Contractors Tips And Ticks
Last post we spoke about a client whose attic had high moisture levels. Clifford had checked for penetration through the roof deck, because common causes of water damage on interior ceilings are roof leaks. Clifford's inspection revealed no damage on the roof which would cause water to penetrate into the attic and cause damage. Upon entering the attic, the interior of the attic was inspected for non-common causes of moisture entering the attic. This is the first unusual thing which greeted us once we entered the attic space. [caption id="attachment_85" align="alignnone" width="300"] bathroom vent, vented into attic[/caption] This is a bathroom fan which is being vented into the attic space. Image ever time you take a bath or shower,...... think of all the moisture which is being sucked out of the…

Oh no! I think my roof is leaking

Contractors Tips And Ticks
The phone rang late last evening, on the other line was an exhausted mother. There was water dripping from the ceiling in her home, again. This was the third time in the last several months in which water was dripping from recently painted sheet rock. After calling the contractor whom originally replaced her roof three years ago, she gave Wollman Construction a call. She explained, the roof was replaced three years prior. There appeared to be a leak of some kind. There was now water dripping from the ceiling, again. The previous contractor was no longer returning her phone calls, and she had no answer as to why water was leaking through the sheet rock ceiling. We arranged for Clifford to swing by the next day and take a look…
