Flash back to 2016 when we acquired a handful of peacocks.
These beautiful India Blue peacocks have had quite a year. From constructing new pens, to be moved around the barn. There was the one who escaped and decided the best place to roost was on top of the barn. Yes, you read that correctly. He flew up to the top of our big ol’ red barn and spent the night there. There was the other peacock who escaped and it took 2+ hours with six people searching before we found him tucked away for the night high up in a tree.
This year we are excited for the potential of peachicks. I should clarify, peacocks are males….. peachicks are the babies, and the females are called peahens. I chuckle anytime some asks if our peacocks have laid any eggs……. no, our peacocks do not lay eggs, but hopefully the peahens will. Peafowl as a whole enrich the landscape of the country.
I see a peacock strutting outside the window, and is now displaying for the guineas & chickens.
